Nicolai Pronk is sinds 1997 werkzaam bij Gilde. Hij is sindsdien betrokken bij diverse investeringen in Nederland en Duitsland, waaronder Synbra, Plastal en Norit. In 2004 is Pronk in Zwitserland gastationeerd (Zürich). Daar was hij co-led van investeringen in CABB, Walter Services, Stankiewicz, Hofmann-Menü en Powerlines.
