Na 12,5 jaar stopte hij op 27 juni 2013 als CEO van RFS Holland Holding en Wehkamp. Paul Nijhof is op 17 juni 2013 benoemd tot Ridder in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau vanwege zijn bezielende leiding aan RFS Holland Holding en daarmee zijn bijdrage aan de regionale werkgelegenheid en economie.
