Maurice de Kleer new CFO of Basic-Fit

02-09-2024 Basic-Fit has announced that Maurice de Kleer will be appointed as the new CFO early next year. He will succeed Hans van der Aar, who will retire on December 31, 2024, after thirteen years.

Maurice de Kleer has been with BDO Nederland since 2005, where he currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Additionally, he has been a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (NOB) since 2019. He has been active at this organization since 2011, holding various leadership roles, including member of the Professional Affairs Committee and Chair of the Executive Board.

The Supervisory Board has proposed appointing Maurice de Kleer as a board member effective January 1, 2025. This proposal will be presented to the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM), scheduled for October 15, 2024.

Jan van Nieuwenhuizen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, commented on De Kleer’s appointment: Maurice de Kleer fits well in the culture of Basic-Fit and is the right person for the next phase in the development of the company. With his extensive experience and skill set in finance, transformation and business leadership, Maurice will be extremely valuable in further delivering profitable growth, operate with efficiency at scale and create value for our members, employees and shareholders.”

Rene Moos, CEO, commented on Van der Aar’s departure: “Hans has been a leading force in several of the key moments in the development of Basic-Fit: the transformation of the mid-market chain HealthCity to the successful value-for-money model of Basic-Fit, a successful listing on Euronext Amsterdam and managing the company through two difficult COVID-19 years, just to name a few. I am grateful for all his contributions to the company and for being a great person to work with so intensely for so many years.”
