Hichem M'Saad new CEO ASM International
13-02-2024 ASM International has announced that Benjamin Loh is stepping down as CEO. Hichem M'Saad succeeds him.
Benjamin Loh has been CEO since 2020. He informed the supervisory board not to seek a second term. He will resign his position at the shareholders' general meeting on May 13, 2024. Loh will stay on as an advisor for a period of three months, to ensure a smooth transition.
Loh is thanked for his contributions. "He has led the strengthening of ASM International’s strategy, culture and organization. Under his leadership, ASM also took important steps in accelerating sustainability, illustrated by the company’s industry-leading net-zero targets. Everyone at ASM International will miss his passion and commitment. We wish him all the best in his retirement."
He will be succeeded by Hichem M'Saad, who has been with ASM International since 2015 and was appointed Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive Board in 2022. It is said he has been instrumental in several of ASM International's succesful innovative products.
Supervisory Chair Pauline van der Meer Mohr: “Hichem M’Saad is the ideal candidate to succeed Benjamin Loh. Since joining ASM in 2015, and the last two years as CTO and member of the Management Board, Hichem has demonstrated strong leadership and people skills. He has been instrumental in expanding engagements with key customers, and he has been a driving force behind many of ASM’s successful products and innovations. Already before joining ASM, Hichem had built a strong track record in innovation and in executive roles in the semiconductor industry.”
