René Steenvoorden New Member Executive Board UWV
10-07-2023 René Steenvoorden was appointed on July 7 by the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment as a member of the UWV Executive Board.
René Steenvoorden will be appointed as a member of the UWV Executive Board on October 1, for a five-year term. In his role, he will focus on the development, modernization and improvement of ICT at UWV and on data-driven working.
Steenvoorden was Chief Digital Officer at Randstad from 2016 to 2022 and since then has been an ICT consultant, entrepreneur and one of the founders of XperieSense, an organization that deploys old and retired IT workers to solve the staff shortage in ICT. He was previously Chief Information Officer at Rabobank and Essent, among others.
For this appointment, René Steenvoorden sees common ground with his previous experiences: 'For people, having a job has a great impact on their happiness. I think it's great to be able to contribute to this mission. In this I see a strong connection with my previous work at Randstad, but the social character of UWV is of course even stronger because of its public mission. I find the large and complex interests of citizens, government and companies combined with the great challenges that lie ahead in the field of digitization and IT very interesting and I am happy to dedicate myself to that.'
Maarten Camps, chairman of the supervisory board: 'UWV is facing a major task in the field of information provision. System innovation, digitization and data-driven work play an important role in the further development of our services. I am pleased that we have found René willing to become a member of the Executive Board. With him we gain an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience, with which we can further improve our public services - in which the application of the human measure and prevention will be central in the coming years. I see that reflected in his ambition and I look forward to his arrival!
