Alexander Zwart New Chief Innovation & Technology Officer of Rabobank

23-08-2023 Effective from December 1, 2023, Alexander Zwart will be appointed as Chief Innovation & Technology Officer and a member of the Group Executive Board. He will succeed Bart Leurs.

Alexander Zwart began his career in 1997 at Coca-Cola, where he held various commercial roles. In 2001, he joined Nuon, where he was part of a business development team that established energy companies in Belgium and Germany. In 2008, he joined Rabobank, where he started as Head of Cash Management Operations. Since then, he has held various positions. Currently, he is responsible for the tech departments of Rabobank Retail Netherlands.

Chair of the Supervisory Board, Marjan Trompetter, expressed her enthusiasm for this appointment: 'Alexander has a long history with Rabobank and is highly familiar with the core of Rabobank's technology and digitalization. He has demonstrated his ability to implement very complex changes within the bank, something you cannot achieve without truly connecting with people and building strong teams. Following the recent appointment of Els Kamphof, I am pleased to see another talented Rabobank director join our Group Executive Board.'

Zwart succeeds Bart Leurs, who has decided to leave the bank after seven years. CEO Stefaan Decreaene thanked Bart Leurs for his contributions to impactful innovations for the bank.

Supervisory Board Chair Marjan Trompetter also expressed her appreciation: 'Bart has contributed to the bank's strategy by accelerating the digital transformation and guiding the bank towards an Agile way of working. In his last role, Bart was strongly focused on the stability and IT security of the bank and its technology platforms. He also placed significant emphasis on cybersecurity risks, data quality, and the attractiveness of Rabobank as a tech employer. Thanks to these efforts, Rabobank has been recognized by Computable as the #1 tech employer among non-tech companies in the Netherlands.'
