New Rabobank Executive Board member
10-05-2023 Els Kamphof will succeed Berry Marttin as Director Wholesale & Rural in Rabobank's group Executive Board, the bank has announced.
Effective September 1, 2023, Kamphof will join the group Executive Board for a four-year term. She will be responsible for the bank's Wholesale & Rural portfolio. Kamphof's appointment, however, is still subject to supervisory approval and advice from the works council. In the meantime, Berry Marttin's board term will be extended by two months to September 1, also subject to supervisory approval.
Els Kamphof, current Regional Head Europe and Africa at the bank, has held the position since the beginning of 2021. In previous years, she was responsible for wholesale banking in the Netherlands and Africa, as well as wholesale banking in Australia and New Zealand. Kamphof studied Econometrics at the University of Groningen. Her professional career began in 1992 as a trainee Investment Banking & Global Clients at ABN AMRO. After having held various positions at ABN AMRO for more than 13 years, she switched to Rabobank in early 2006.
Marjan Trompetter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: "Besides the experience and qualities that Els Kamphof brings, it is also important that a Rabobank talent succeeds Berry Marttin. We wish Els much success in the coming years."
Berry Marttin, Rabobank's longest-serving board member, will step down as a member of the Group Executive Board on September 1, 2023. After studying Business Administration in Brazil, he started at Rabobank as a management trainee. He has been a member of the Executive Board since 2009, where his responsibilities include rural banking and DLL. In 2021, he was also assigned the wholesale banking portfolio. Before the end of 2023, Marttin will hand over his other board positions on behalf of Rabobank.
Marjan Trompetter: "The Supervisory Board thanks Berry Marttin for the more than 14 years he has spent as a Director at Rabobank. He has shaped his work in an inspiring way with great commitment to Rabobank's mission. In addition to leading rural, and in recent years wholesale, he was also responsible for DLL and Rabo Partnerships (and formerly Rabobank Foundation). With his vision and commitment, Berry has successfully led all these business units."
