Gita Salden joins board De Nederlandsche Bank

16-02-2024 Gita Salden, CEO of BNG Bank, will leave the bank as per the end of May 2024 to join the board of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) as per 1 June.

Salden will start in her new role as of June 1, 2024. She will be responsible for monitoring insurers and pension funds, and for monitoring horizontal positions and integrity. 

Gita Salden started as CEO at BNG Bank in 2018, after a long and succesfull career at the Ministry of Finance. From 2012 on she served as Director Financial Markets and acting Treasurer-General. She studied economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

DNB President Klaas Knot is pleased to welcom Gita Salden as a member of their Executive Board. “Gita brings a wealth of societal and managerial experience. Her broad knowledge of the financial sector, gained at BNG Bank and the Ministry of Finance, will be of great value to us as we work to strengthen our supervision.” 

Salden will succeed Else Bos, who stepped down as a member of the Executive Board and Chair of Supervision with effect from 1 February 2024. Steven Maijoor, who has been Director of Banking Supervision since 2021, has taken over the Chair of Supervision since Bos’ departure.
