Karen te Boome new Director of Stations ProRail
20-03-2023 ProRail has announced the appointment of Karen te Boome as its new Director of Stations. Furthermore, Wouter van Dijk, director of Asset Management, has decided to leave after almost seven years at ProRail.
Karen te Boome has been with ProRail since July 2010, where she initially started as department manager of Project Managers Conditioning and Environmental Management. She then also held the position of Department Manager of Environment and Sustainability for three years before starting as Director of Environment, Legal Affairs and Real Estate in 2018.
Karen te Boome will first serve an interim role as Director of Asset Management. She and Director of Capacity Management Bas Bakker will temporarily assume the position of Director of Asset Management in which Karen te Boome will focus on day-to-day operations and Bas Bakker will temporarily oversee the field of "engineering and development". When the new Director of Asset Management starts, Karen te Boome will become the new Director of Stations. In the meantime, Wim Gideonse will remain interim Director of Stations.
Director Projects, Riet Schroven: "I am enormically pleased that Karen te Boome will soon become our new Director of Stations. For more than five years, her predecessor Astrid Bunt and the entire station department have put stations on the map, fundamentally improved cooperation with NS stations and, together with them, boosted passenger satisfaction year after year. We want to continue that. And that will work out well with Karen."
Wouter van Dijk started at ProRail as Director of Transport & Timetables 2016 and later became Director of Asset Management. COO Birgit Otto, on behalf of the Executive Board, expresses her thanks to Van Dijk for his years of dedication to ProRail.
Director of Asset Management Wouter van Dijk: "After serving on the board for six and a half years, I have decided for myself to leave our organization. I have enjoyed working here immensely and have never experienced so many committed colleagues. I will also miss that tremendously, but for me it is time for something new."
