Peter Bommel New Chief Executive Officer APG Group
02-02-2023 Peter Bommel has been appointed Chief Executive Officer by APG Group shareholders. Starting April 1, he succeeds Pieter Jongstra for a four-year term.
Peter Bommel is a Supervisory Director at Flynth Group and Chairman of the VU Association. He is also a Board Member of the Top Sports Fund of the Netherlands Olympic Committee. Before that, he was CEO of Deloitte in the Netherlands from 2012 to 2019 and Director of Deloitte's global organization. He has also been Managing Partner of Deloitte's Dutch Audit Practice and was CEO of MetaCorp between 2020 and 2022.
Pieter Jongstra, current Chairman of APG's Supervisory Board: "The Netherlands is on the eve of a major overhaul of the pension system. APG and its pension fund clients are preparing the transition to a new pension system in a complex administrative and financial environment. This demands a lot from the Supervisory Board and I am particularly pleased that with Peter Bommel we are getting such an experienced and expert director as chairman of the Supervisory Board. He brought about a very radical transformation and quality impulse as CEO of Deloitte. He also has extensive knowledge and experience in areas such as stakeholder management, risk management, financial management and corporate governance.
