Pier Eringa resigns as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AFC Ajax

27-09-2023 Pier Eringa has announced his decision to step down from his position as a member and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AFC Ajax. Eringa will transfer his responsibilities in the coming days and formally resign on October 2nd.

Pier Eringa was appointed as a member and Chairman of the Supervisory Board on March 14, 2023. Previously, he served as a supervisor in football, namely as a member of the Supervisory Board for amateur football at the KNVB. He currently holds a Supervisory role at OLVG.

In the past, he has served as CEO at the LageLand Hospital, Transdev Netherlands, ProRail, and the Albert Schweitzer Hospital.

In a statement, Eringa emphasized the importance of a supervisor, especially in challenging times. "Especially when things are not going well, I believe that you should stand firm as a supervisor. However, I am not deaf to criticism and not blind to the situation Ajax currently finds itself in. For this reason, I have decided to make way for a new chairman. I have worked hard for the club. I will continue to follow Ajax as a fan and hope that the sporting performances will quickly return to the level desired by Ajax."

The process to achieve a complete composition of the Supervisory Board will be initiated in accordance with the bylaws.
