Ruud Sondag CEO a.i. at Schiphol Group
21-10-2022 Schiphol Group announced on 21 October that Ruud Sondag will be appointed as interim CEO with effect from 1 November.
Ruud Sondag is a member of the supervisory board at ProRail and the Port of Rotterdam. He is stepping down from these positions to be able to fully focus on his position at Schiphol. Previously, he was CEO of Eneco and Van Gansewinkel Groep. He will be appointed as interim CEO with effect from 1 November 2022. His appointment will run until August 31, 2023.
On September 15, it was announced that the current CEO, Dick Benschop, was retiring from his position. The procedure for the search for a definitive successor started immediately, but takes some time. In order not to lose any time, the Supervisory Board has therefore decided to quickly appoint an interim CEO who can take on the day-to-day management of Schiphol.
Jaap Winter, chairman of the supervisory board of Schiphol: 'We are very pleased that Ruud Sondag will temporarily fill the position of CEO of Schiphol Group. With his knowledge and experience of complex and labour-intensive organizations, Ruud Sondag is the right person for this interim position. This will enable him to make an important contribution to solving Schiphol's operational challenges. He is a strategist with a broad logistics background and strong operational execution power who has successfully led organizations in transition. Sondag also has a proven sustainability profile that is in line with Schiphol's ambition to accelerate sustainability and reduce the burden on the environment.'
