Christian Schreyer new CEO of Ebusco
02-09-2024 Ebusco has announced the appointment of Christian Schreyer as the new CEO and member of the executive board, effective September 2, 2024.
Christian Schreyer has over 25 years of experience in the public transportation and logistics sectors. He has worked at Deutsche Bahn as Head of Corporate Strategy, at Transdev in various roles including Chairman and CEO for North and Central Europe, and at Go-Ahead as Group CEO.
At the beginning of this year, the company introduced the role of co-CEO following a request from CEO Peter Bijvelds due to the company's ongoing expansion. However, in the announcement of the 2024 half-year results, it was stated that the management team has developed a plan to improve the organization. The management team has since decided that the company would be better led by a single CEO with experience in public transportation. Therefore, founders Peter Bijvelds and Michiel Peters will step down as co-CEOs on September 2.
Ebusco will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to propose the appointment of Christian Schreyer as CEO and member of the Board of Directors, and to discuss the plan for reorganization and financing. Several major shareholders have already expressed their support.
In addition to these management changes, the Supervisory Board announces that Ruud Spoor, for health reasons, and Saskia Schatteman, for personal reasons, will step down as members of the Supervisory Board. Both resignations are effective immediately.
Founder Peter Bijvelds explains: "As Ebusco enters a new phase, it is time for me to step aside. I am confident that under Christian Schreyer's leadership, the management team will take the necessary steps to achieve the turnaround."
Michiel Peters adds: "I believe that with the recent additions and the arrival of Christian Schreyer, Ebusco's executive team is strong and well-positioned to achieve the required operational turnaround and further develop customer relationships. Therefore, I will be taking a step back, but I remain a supporter of the Ebusco team."
