Hein Schumacher to step down as CEO of Unilever

25-02-2025 Hein Schumacher leaves Unilever after one and a half years as CEO; CFO Fernando Fernandez to succeed him as of March 1, 2025.

Hein Schumacher is stepping down as CEO of Unilever after one and a half years. He will leave the board of directors on March 1 and formally depart from the company on May 31. Despite positive results in 2024, the Supervisory Board has determined that progress needs to be made at a faster pace. Fernando Fernandez, the current CFO, will take over as his successor.

Schumacher, who took on the role in 2023, was responsible for restructuring Unilever. His departure comes as a surprise, but the Board has confidence in Fernandez’s ability to implement the necessary changes more swiftly.
