Ahold Delhaize appoints Jan Brecht as chief technology officer
10-07-2025 Ahold Delhaize has announced that Jan Brecht will begin his role as chief technology officer in September 2025. He will succeed Ben Wishart, who is stepping down after twelve years as CTO and leaving the company.
Jan Brecht brings extensive international experience in digital transformation and technology. He most recently served as chief digital information officer at Nissan Motor, and previously held the position of CIO at Mercedes-Benz Group and Adidas Group. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and has previously worked in Europe, the U.S., and Japan.
As CTO, Jan Brecht will be responsible for shaping Ahold Delhaize’s technology strategy, including digital innovation, cybersecurity, and strengthening customer-centric platforms. ‘I’m honored to join Ahold Delhaize at such a pivotal time, with the Growing Together strategy having made a solid start since its launch last year.
