Rob van Wingerden new chairman Monitoring Committee Corporate Governance Code
07-11-2024 Rob van Wingerden is nominated as chairman of the Corporate Governance Code Monitoring Committee by the Minister of Economic Affairs on November 6, 2024.
Rob van Wingerden, interim CEO of Strukton, has been nominated as chairman of the renewed Monitoring Committee Corporate Governance Code. This nomination was made by minister Dirk Beljaarts of Economic Affairs on Nov. 6, 2024. The minister indicated that Van Wingerden, with his wide experience in the construction industry, is the right person to lead the committee.
Van Wingerden previously worked at BAM for more than three decades, with the last six years as CEO. Since May 2023, he has been interim CEO at Strukton, working to restore stability within the company. The committee, responsible for overseeing corporate governance, is being re-formed after a period of inactivity. Van Wingerden will be tasked with selecting up to seven new members for the committee. In the process, he must also engage with parties such as the trade union FNV, which previously stepped down from the committee out of dissatisfaction with the role of employer organizations.
The Monitoring Committee has the important task of annually checking whether public companies and institutions comply with established codes of good governance. The government expresses its confidence that Van Wingerden, with his knowledge and experience, will make an important contribution to strengthening good corporate governance in the Netherlands. The government hopes that Van Wingerden can breathe new life into the committee and ensure the strengthening of good corporate governance in the Netherlands.
