Ton van Veen Joins Crisp’s Supervisory Board
24-03-2026 Online supermarket Crisp has appointed Ton van Veen to its supervisory board.
The former CFO and CEO of Jumbo brings more than thirty years of experience in the retail and consumer sectors. Ton van Veen held various executive roles at Jumbo and was closely involved in the company’s growth into one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands. With his appointment, Crisp strengthens its oversight with extensive operational and financial expertise.
Van Veen’s arrival coincides with a new phase for the company, which closed last December with a positive operating result. In the coming period, Crisp will focus on expanding its product range—including through new suppliers and private-label products—and on further developing its business activities.
Ton van Veen on his appointment: “Crisp distinguishes itself as a pioneer in the home delivery of delicious food with a fantastic brand. Technology and AI provide unprecedented convenience, while local and sustainable food is more relevant to customers than ever. With a great team, Crisp is on the cusp of a new phase of growth, and I am immensely proud to be able to contribute to that.”
CEO and co-founder Tom Peeters describes the appointment as a strengthening of the supervisory board, particularly in light of the ongoing investments in technology, the B2B channel, and preparations for a new distribution center.
