Christian Dahlheim appointed new ceo of Pon Holding

02-12-2025 Christian Dahlheim, currently ceo of Volkswagen Financial Services, will succeed Janus Smalbraak as CEO of Amsterdam-based mobility company Pon Holding in April next year.

For the first time in Pon's history, the company will be led by a foreign ceo. After 25 years with the company, including 15 years as ceo, Smalbraak is leaving to become a partner at investment company Parcom.

Dahlheim has over 20 years of experience within the Volkswagen Group, mainly in financial services. He headed Volkswagen's sales and marketing department from October 2018 and became ceo of VW Financial Services in February 2022. During his time with the German car manufacturer, he worked on various collaborative projects with Pon.

Fanja Pon, chair of the supervisory board, said in a press statement: “We are welcoming not only an experienced manager, but also an expert in our markets. We are convinced that Christian is an excellent fit for the Pon culture and will further strengthen it.”
