ABN AMRO completes acquisition of NIBC: three supervisory board members join
03-08-2026 ABN AMRO has completed the acquisition of NIBC and is now preparing for the next phase leading to a legal merger and integration.
ABN AMRO has successfully completed the acquisition of NIBC. With the completion of the transaction, Ferdinand Vaandrager (CFO), Choy van der Hooft-Cheong (Chief Commercial Officer Wealth Management), and Gitte van Haaren-Isbouts (CEO ABN AMRO Mortgage Group) have joined NIBC’s supervisory board effective immediately. NIBC will be consolidated into ABN AMRO’s financial results as of August 1, 2026.
The acquisition strengthens ABN AMRO’s position in the Dutch mortgage and savings market. NIBC serves approximately 325,000 savings customers and 200,000 mortgage customers.
