Hendrik Jan Bieman appointed as member Supervisory Board DNB
03-09-2024 Hendrik Jan Biemond has been appointed for an initial four-year term as a member of the Supervisory Board of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB).
DNB has appointed Hendrik Jan Biemond as a member of the Supervisory Board from 1 September 2024. He succeeds Marry de Gaay Fortman, who stepped down at the conclusion of her term on 1 July 2024.
Hendrik Jan Biemond is a Deputy Justice at the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal and Advisor to the Board of Pon Holdings. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Holland Festival and Chair of Stichting Bureau Vergezicht.

As a lawyer and partner at Allen & Overy, he has assisted major financial institutions in areas including compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme – Wwft) and conduct supervision. He has also served as a prosecutor at the National Office for Serious Fraud, Environmental Crime and Asset Confiscation in Amsterdam.”
