New members of the Executive Board of de Volksbank
27-02-2025 As of 1 March 2025, Gwendolyn van Tunen and Isold Heemstra will join the Executive Board of de Volksbank. Isold Heemstra has been appointed Chief Customer Officer (CCO), Chief Financial Crime Officer (CFCO) Gwendolyn van Tunen was already a member of the Executive Committee.
The appointment of Isold Heemstra as CCO is a first step towards creating a COO position as of 1 July 2025. As of that date, de Volksbank intends to appoint Heemstra as COO, in line with the simplification of the organizational structure.
Heemstra has spent many years at ING, including as CEO France, CEO Czech Republic and Senior Business Advisor. He also served as COO of ING Insurance Berhad Malaysia.
Gwendolyn van Tunen has been CFCO in the Executive Committee of de Volksbank since June 2024. That position will now be added to the Executive Board. The bank writes about this: 'De Volksbank has made safeguarding the role of gatekeeper a priority. The addition of the CFCO to the Executive Board is in line with this.'
