Marieke Schöningh steps down as COO at ProRail
19-06-2025 Marieke Schöningh will step down from her role as Chief Operating Officer at ProRail as of 1 September 2025.
Marieke Schöningh has held the position of COO since October 2023. Regarding her departure, she says: ‘I am proud of the results we have achieved together, but at the same time I recognize that I thrive better in the context of a private enterprise than in a public-sector organization. That’s why I have decided to leave ProRail as of 1 September.’
John Voppen, CEO of ProRail, comments: ‘We would have welcomed the opportunity to continue working with Marieke, given her valuable contributions to operations. I am grateful for everything she has brought to the rail sector in recent times and sincerely wish her all the best in the next phase of her career.’
