Alliander appoints two new COO’s

14-02-2025 Charlotte Sanders and Sarike van Wette have been appointed as Chief Operating Officer Networks and Chief Operating Officer Customers at Alliander, respectively. Starting from April 17, 2025, they will be part of the company’s Executive Committee.

At the same time, Alliander’s legal structure is changing: the Management Board will consist of two statutory directors: CEO Maarten Otto and CFO Walter Bien. The Executive Committee will be expanded by one additional member with the appointment of a second COO.

Alliander is adjusting its management to better handle the growth in the reinforcement and expansion of the energy networks and customer connections. By appointing two COOs, the company will be better equipped to address execution, the growing demand, and the investments needed for a sustainable energy system.

Currently, Sarike van Wette and Charlotte Sanders serve as Director of Maintenance and Outages and Director of Consumer and Small Business at Alliander, respectively. Van Wette will focus as COO on customer service, realizing connections, ensuring continuity of energy supply, and supporting energy markets. Sanders will focus as COO on planning and executing the growth of energy network work and organizing the necessary conditions in collaboration with external partners.

Maarten Otto, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board at Alliander, on the appointments: ‘With the new Executive Committee, we will focus even more on the needs and demands of our customers and the operational steps needed for a future-proof and sustainable energy system. The current situation requires us to accelerate the building of our infrastructure. We must also use the electricity grid more efficiently. I am confident that together with Charlotte and Sarike, we will take the right next steps.’
