Ton van Veen to leave Jumbo

29-01-2025 Ton van Veen is stepping down as Jumbo's CEO after less than two years, a successor has not yet been appointed.

Ton van Veen has announced that he will be stepping down from his position as CEO of Jumbo within a few months. After less than two years in the role, Van Veen has decided to leave the company. In 2022, he took a temporary step back to spend more time with his family and focus on other matters outside of Jumbo. Shortly thereafter, he was asked to take on the role of CEO after Frits van Eerd stepped down due to legal issues.

Van Veen stated during the presentation of the annual results that Jumbo had gone through a "serious crisis" in recent years.

The search for a successor to Van Veen has now begun.
