Two New Supervisory Directors Schiphol Group

14-04-2023 At Schiphol Group's shareholders' meeting, Medy van der Laan and Chris Figee were appointed as new members of the supervisory board.

At the shareholders' meeting on 11 April, Schiphol Group's shareholders approved the appointment of Medy van der Laan and Chris Figee. They were appointed for a period of four years.

Medy van der Laan is Chair of the Dutch Banking Association since August 2021. Before that, she chaired Energie-Nederland, the association of Dutch energy companies, and held various administrative and supervisory positions. She has also been State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science. 

Schiphol states that her broad experience inside and outside the public sector and with issues surrounding sustainability and energy transition make her a valuable addition to the supervisory board.

Chris Figee has been cfo of KPN since 2020. Before that, he was cfo at a.s.r. Figee has extensive experience in the financial sector and worked at various organisations. He is currently a member of the supervisory boards of Azerion and UNICEF Netherlands.

Schiphol says his extensive experience in financial environments, strategy and operational processes will add value to his role on the supervisory board. He will succeed Robert Jan van de Kraats as chairman of the audit committee next year. To ensure a smooth handover, Van de Kraats has been reappointed for a one-year term after two four-year terms.

Schiphol Group also announced that Mikael Olsson stepped down as a supervisory board member on 11 April, after serving two terms. The supervisory board is still looking for a successor.
