Herna Verhagen leaves PostNL
04-11-2024 PostNL has announced that Herna Verhagen will step down as CEO on April 15, 2025.
Verhagen has served as CEO of PostNL since 2012. In a press release, the company states that her departure is for personal reasons.
Following the shareholders' meeting, Verhagen will formally hand over her responsibilities to Pim Berendsen, PostNL's current CFO. The company’s employee council has already given positive advice on Berendsen's appointment as CEO. The new CFO has yet to be announced.
Jan Nooitgedagt, Chairman of PostNL’s Supervisory Board, commented on Verhagen’s departure: ‘Herna has transformed PostNL into a leading player in e-commerce logistics, while maintaining the essential role of reliable postal services. Under her leadership, PostNL has developed into a committed and responsible employer for tens of thousands of employees, including couriers, transport drivers, and sorting staff. We regret her decision but are equally pleased with Pim as her successor.’
