Leni Boeren to join Aegon’s board of directors
30-04-2026 Aegon intends to appoint Leni Boeren as a new member of the board of directors for a four-year term.
The nomination will be considered at the annual general meeting of shareholders on June 10, 2026. Leni Boeren will partially succeed the departing board members Corien Wortmann and Karen Fawcett. Wortmann has reached the maximum term of twelve years and is therefore no longer eligible for reappointment. Fawcett has indicated that she will not stand for reelection.
Leni Boeren has a long career in the financial sector, having served as CEO of Kempen Capital Management and chair of the board of directors of Robeco Group. She currently serves as a supervisory board member at Mollie and NIBC, among others, and as a non-executive director at Air France-KLM.
The shareholders’ meeting will also consider the reappointment of Lard Friese as executive director and CEO. If approved, Friese’s term will be extended until the 2030 annual general meeting.
