Roelie van Wijk-Russchen joined the ABP Board of Directors on April 19, 2024. She was nominated as a Non-Executive Director from the employers' section (cabinet sectors). Van Wijk thus fills the vacancy created after Loek Sibbing assumed the role of Independent Chairman of the General Board.

Prior to this, she gained very extensive experience in the financial sector. From 2006 to 2020, she worked at Aegon. Roelie van Wijk was CEO of TKP Investments for almost twelve years and subsequently served as Global Head of Responsible Business & Public Affairs at Aegon Asset Management. Before Aegon, she held various senior management positions at SNS Asset Management, Philips Pensioenfonds, PGGM and ABN AMRO MeesPierson.
She also held several ancillary positions such as Chair of the Non-Executive Board at the Spoorwegpensioenfonds and was Chair of Dutch Fund & Asset Management Association (Dufas). In this role, she actively contributed to the realization of the broad financial sector's commitment to the 2019 Climate Agreement.
